Inconsiderate to unforseen circumstances

I've been a member with Discovery since 1997, there had been short periods of time where there had been a break in cover - which were out of my control.

My estranged husband caused the medical aid to be cancelled on 31/12/2018 due to non payment. He didn't advise me of this and I only found out on 02/03/2019, after which I took out medical coverage for my daughter and I almost immediately.

The 3 month waiting period for my daughter had been waived, which I was grateful for and I would have a waiting period of 3 months. Which I had been fine with, as I never get sick and I was advised at the sale of the policy that I would be covered in an event of an emergency.

I now have a very infectious wound, that is on the verge of blood poisoning. Apparently, Discovery won't even consider reviewing to waive the waiting period for me and won't assist me at all in a case of emergency (as I was previously assured).

So someone had to have **** to me and now I run the risk of ending up in Kalafong Hospital with infection.
