discovery has a reduced premium if you over 21, a full time student , not earning an income from any source , or not earning any income over R360.00 per month.<br> my daughter comp**** with this criteria, now they charge the higher category without checking, saying that she did not state on the affidavit her family support. On your 2015 brochure the income defined also does not include any requirement of family support, however now they say the brochure and website has not been updated. stop giving people the run around. if you offer the plan, give it to the person who falls in the criteria, stop trying to get around it.<br> I had to get now a 3rd affidavit to comply with the criteria.....<br> <br> unfortunately we are forced to have medical aid in this country, and discovery has got an overall good plan, but you guys suck.

Income is defined as the higher of the main member and/or spouse's earnings, commission and rewards from employment, interest from investments, income from leasing of assets or property, distributions received from a trust, pension and/or provident fund and financial assistance from any social assistance programme. We do uses 3 months average information to determine the income band.
To be put on the lowest income band we do require certain information and make this available to members who apply to be on this income band. I have emailed you more detailed feedback in regards to your concerns.
