*********** AND UNDERMINES CLIENTS
On the 30th January, i called the call center to find out if i needed another authorization for an additional procedure apart from the one i got before being admitted in hospital, i was told NO the one that i got will just be updated with added procedures.

Guess what? That was not the case.

Few weeks later i am sitting with a couple of thousands that i now have to pay as the medical aid does not cover those procedures.

This is complete and utter nonsense!!!

I took time lying on the hospital bed, to call Discovery to confirm that there will be no extra charges and now i have the hospital chasing me for their money which the medical aid declined to pay.

This is **************** from Discovery and they actually think their clients are IDIOTS.

When i call to enquire about the outstanding balance for the hospital , i am told that it is a shortfall that a member must pay.

Can somebody please tell me why i bothered calling them and getting a confirmation that they will pay and now i have to pay for the shortfall.

This is ridiculous and the Agents are so arrogant when i try to rectify the problem.

Not first time i had bad dealings with Discovery and definitely not last.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to assist you.
I can confirm that you were advised that the additional procedure will attract a co-payment, however you were incorrectly advised that this co-payment will be funded from the available funds in your Medical Savings Account (MSA). This type of co-payment are not claimable from the MSA, however based on the information provided to you, we will be paying the co-payment as advised.
I have sent you an email with the relevant document that you need to complete to allow us to fund the co-payment from your MSA and await your response to assist you further.
I would like to take this opportunity to offer you our sincerest apologies for the frustration you have experienced in this regard. I assure you that the matter was addressed with the relevant manager to avoid any re-occurrences in future.
Kind regards
Danita
