in hospital cover

<p>so today I called discovery to try and get authorisation for an excision of a ***mented lesion on my chin which has </p> <p>1. been cut out before by an AESTHETICIAN at laser derm.</p> <p>2. it grew back bigger, so I was referred to a surgeon to get it sorted out there.</p> <p>3. irrespective of the fact the doctor would have to send it to the lab to check if it is not cancerous as it is currently infected, hence it returned when cut the first time.</p> <p> </p> <p>now upon calling discovery and requesting the authorisation code, I was asked some questions about the procedure.</p> <p> </p> <p>the kind answer from discovery was sorry we can not authorise the procedure. when I asked why?, I was told it does not meet criteria.</p> <p> </p> <p>when I asked what criteria, I was told it can not be disclosed. assuming this seems not important to them, but what happens if the infection gets worse or better yet it turns out to be cancerous.</p> <p> </p> <p>now my concern is the say they will only pay for the procedure and the doctor's fees. and I must pay for the hospital and aesthetician fees. only God knows how much those fees are and where i must source them.</p> <p> </p> <p>why is it they do not advise us that we have been paying so long without claiming and out money does not meet their criteria and reimburse us.</p> <p> </p> <p>why are we paying medical aid in the first if somethings do not meet criteria. so it is worth risking a small this becoming a problem as long as discovery gets their monthly instalments.</p> <p> </p> <p>I'm really disappointed. i must either take a loan or risk further infection. </p> <p> </p> <p>Regards</p> <p>Medical aid "member", more like payer.</p> <p> </p>
