Impossible to change plans for pregnant woman

I'm currently pregnant and due to give birth in January 2025. For the last 2 weeks have been trying to move over to my husband's plan as a dependent, so that I can give birth where my doctor is situated. However, every time I speak to an agent I get conflicting information on the process.

I have checked all the boxes to activate my wealth fund (R2500) and didn't want to loose out on that so I did my dental check-up and submitted the claim. so that there would be enough time to put the claim in and make the switch. That claim should have gone through by now, but there seems to be an unexplained delay. I'm now being told that I will loose my wealth fund (after being reassured by a handful of agents that it gets carried over to my husband's profile till the end of the year).

Further to that, the last agent I spoke to advised that I could do an immediate withdrawal from my current plan and transfer over as a dependent in December (after speaking to her team leader - ref number: 889 971 914). Now when I try to initiate the process I'm being told it's not possible and I need to wait until January (because downgrading to a cheaper plan is considered an upgrade and can only be done every January). This gives me no time to book a hospital bed and sort out all the admin that needs to be done beforehand, unless I have a break in cover. This means after paying Discovery for the last 15 years, I won't be covered for a standard child birth.

It's so frustrating that a simple change like this is such a mammoth task for Discovery's admin team to handle, At the very least no one seems to be trained to answer simple questions. The last thing I need right now is the added stress this is causing during this stage of my pregnancy. I've spent hours on the phone, but I can't seem to get a consistent answer or way forward regarding the move and my wealth fund.

It's been almost 2 weeks, and absolutely no progress has been made. No follow ups on the claim and I'm still suck wondering where I'm going to give birth next month!
