******* interest demands

During the latter half of last year I was forced through financial circumstances to relinqush my Discovery health membership. An amount of R2700 was requested by Discovery. This I couldnt pay and so in January the account was handed over to SSDA in Pretoria for collection. A payment plan was agreed to and two payments totalling R3040 including costs were made in February and March to cover the balance owing. At no point did I ever receive a written confirmation of this agreement. On Tuesday 7April I received a phone call before 8am from a SSDA representative demanding a further payment of around R300. This was apparently outstanding interest owed on the account. He could not explain why this charge was incurred and I requested a return call from a supervisor to answer my queries. Needless to say this didnt happen and so I have since Tuesday morning until today telephoned the call centre on 6 occasions (times and names available) to request an explanation and a return call. The only explanation I could get on Tuesday was that because I had not paid the full amount in one payment the interest charges had been levied. Discovery should now step in as SSDA is their provider.
