I do not recommend Discovery Health medical Aid

I have been nothing but a loyal customer to Discovery but my recent interactions with them have been appalling. 3 weeks after having my c section I got a sinus on the suture line scar . I went to casualty and they drained the pus .The gynae recommended me to a wound care specialist for treatments . Because my sinus was bad they put me on the UNO wound treatment immediately so that the wound can heal faster. Weeks into the UNO wound treatment I was told that discovery is refusing to pay for treatment. I wrote a dispute letter and they are still refusing to pay . Their reason for not paying is that I should have received conventional wound care for 30 days first and then if there was no clinical improvement after at least 30 days then they’d pay for the UNO wound care treatment. I am no medical expert , how do I refuse treatment from a Doc when I’m clearly sick and rely on medication practitioners for the best course of treatment. I now have to pay thousands out of my pocket which I do not have . I would not recommend discovery medical aid , it seems they would rather something bad happens to you first before they pay for treatment.
