Thank you for your comment.
We confirmed that you have been contacted and your query resolved.
On the KeyCare plans you need to get a specialist authorization before consulting with a specialist. The general practitioner (GP) must request a specialist referral approval from Discovery Health prior to you making the specialist appointment. The process takes 2 working days from the time the form is registered on system. If the authorization is approved, we will cover the claims up to the Discovery Health Rate or the Specialist agreement rate, if they are contracted in. The reimbur*****t of these claims are subject to funds being available in your specialist benefit limit.
If your son needs to be referred again to another provider at a later stage, the GP needs to follow the form process again.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further assistance in this matter.
Regards
Annelize
