Happy with Discovery Health

I would to say thank you to Discovery health for paying my accounts so promptly and for their support the medical aid has honored everything in their contract I signed for. They listen, they help and they understand. I know and I understand why so many people get frustrated who ever sells you their products needs to explain it to you....brokers themselves are not aware of what they offer. There are many medical terms flying around PMB,ICD 10, PROCEDURE CODES etc....I would like to suggest that you do some research phone the medical aid ask them to explain the definitions to you if you dont understand ask again I am certain they can also e-mail you if necessary. Look it up on the internet. If there is a broker involved that obviously receives a commission from them for joining new members then they too should be able to help you they sold you the product to begin with.

I assure you each medical aid have their own rules but I have received the best treatment and understanding from Discovery Health I am not saying there aren't other medical aids that do the same I am speaking from my experience I have been a member of Discovery health for almost 12 years.

Unfortunately Dr's,x-rays,pathologists etc....love to say the medical aid says they ***** your money and dont pay but this is not true if the provider doesnt supply the correct information that's where the confusion starts.....there are certain codes and information that must be on the account in order to be paid unfortunately some secretaries Dr's dont know the correct medical aid codes to use so they blame the medical aid. If the account is correctly billed with the necessary information and you still have savings or your above threshold on certain plans they will pay you in full if billed at their rates which is very reasonable unfortunately their are Dr's that will charge you more than this if you dont want to pay more on the website is a list of Dr's that are contaracted to them and they will charge their agreed rates.

That goes for any medical aid unless you have alot of savings or a special expensive plan. Some medical aids pay more and others pay less but that is not their fault if they had to pay every Dr that feel like charging what they feel they deserve then there wouldn't be funds in medical aid for the other clients. Medical aids do not and can not ***** your money you pay what you get for. Please can we some more positivity about what good things our medical do and just complaints.
