False Quatations

Discovery Health quoted me a monthly premium of R764 on their Discovery key Care Plus option. After going through my bank statements, now they want to charge me R1069 because of payments that was made into my account from my HUSBAND! They see it as income! If my husband has to pay money into my account to help me pay my bills, why would they think I can afford a more expensive premium.

Hello kornette@,

Thank you for your comment.

I tried contacting you however, you were not available to take my call. I looked into your query and confirmed that the contributions for KeyCare Plans are based on income. In managing the benefits and cover on KeyCare Plans, Discovery Health must make sure we continue to provide a high level of cover at affordable rates.

The Scheme is able to manage this through an income verification process. All income declared is taken into consideration including financial support therefore, the premium confirmed of R 1069.00 is correct according to the information we have. I sent you an email with the details.

I am really sorry that I cannot offer you a different outcome to your query.

Kind regards
Rishana
