False preventative care advertising

I had a total left hip replacement on the 4th of August. Part of the care IN hospital is to wear special socks to prevent blood clots. Please remember that Discovery advertise on a daily basis on social media that they are all about PREVENTATIVE CARE. The purpose of the socks is to prevent blood clots, a condition that could be fatal or make you end up in hospital for days. Discovery refuse to pay the socks because as a consultant told me this morning during a telephone conversation \ I took it home after I was discharge"and \"" It is external medical supplies\"". External medical supplies that could save Discovery thousand of rands to prevent them paying for my admission if I develop a blood clot. I strongly feel that Discovery do not adhere to their so called preventative healthcare advertising. It was given to me IN Hospital and should be payed by Discovery from my IN Hospital benefit and not my MSA. The socks could save Discovery thousands of rands. I did not ask for the socks. It is part of the specialised medical team's plan to prevent blood clots. """
