Extremely Disappointed with Discovery Medical Aid – Denied Care and Unfair Cancellation!

I was rushed to the hospital with severe stomach cramps and vomiting, and the doctor recommended immediate admission. However, just a day later, I received a call from Discovery’s forensics team, who claimed the doctor had said I had seen him two weeks prior, which was absolutely false. The doctor had been on leave, and I had not seen him at all. Discovery then classified my condition as pre-existing, which it was not, and I was denied the urgent care I needed.

After being denied medical attention by Discovery, my condition worsened. I began vomiting blood, but when I turned to government healthcare for help, I was once again turned away, leaving me with no support.

To make matters worse, after this experience, Discovery immediately canceled my medical aid, which I feel is incredibly unfair. I had been paying for my medical aid, trusting that it would cover me during emergencies. Instead, I was denied care when I needed it most and now find myself without any coverage at all.

This whole ordeal has been distressing and disheartening, especially after paying for a service that ultimately failed me in my time of need. I feel abandoned and unfairly treated by Discovery Medical Aid.
