Extender benefits

Yesterday morning I felt unwell and went to see a doctor. I know that my msa only had R133,however,when I joined Discovery medical aid,I was informed that I have extender cover for gp cover,once my msa is finished. I was shocked that I had to now pay R400,before the doctor could see to me. If i did not have the money to pay,then it would have meant that i would not have got medical assistance. Can you imagine being sick, your temperature is 39.5°,feeling lightheaded and then still have to now find an atm to withdraw cash,before a doctor can see to you. I think I should rather pay R350 pm for health for me and have unlimited gp visits,than have a discovery medical aid!!!

I accessed your Whatzapp options and was still not satisfied with the response.i am now told that I have to follow a long process before I can receive medical assistance. If you feel unwell and the reason why you would go to a doctor or hospital is because you need medical assistance. You would not be looking all over the place to get medical assistance and then do a virtual meeting,only to be told then,that you now need to go and see a doctor!!!. I received a call from one of the agents,only to read me the information on the brochure!
