Exploitation of Discovery members by Discovery

I am writing this review on behalf of my mother. I have consent to deal with her medical aid. She has been on a medical aid since late 1959. My father worked on the mine his whole life. The mi*****up moved over to a new medical aid in 1977 of which she was a member till 2003. So membership is stated from 1977. We app**** for my mother to go over to Discovery Key Care Healt at the time now Plus, in February 2003. They imposed a waiting period of 12 months plus a 25% peanality on her installement at the time. Their argument is that she could not provide proof that she was on a medical aid prior 1977. Working through a broker at the time this was not explained to us so water under the bridge... Going forward now in 2019, Discovery opt Key Care Plus members to move over to a new plan by 1 June 2019. Exercising the option Discovery still insists to impose the 25% penality because they first want proof that she did belong to a medical aid prior to 1977. Irrespective that she has been with them for the last 16 years.... Honestly... we provided proof from 1977 to 2003 (26 years!!).Plus the last 16 year.. 43 years non- stop on a medical aid! How ridiculous is this? They advertise cost per plan only to find reasons why they could impose penalities. How long back to they want to go and how long do they want to keep on penalising a member. Honestly... 43 years non- stop on a medical aid and Discovery still insist to keep on penalising her..... When is enough enough............?????
