Expired PMB??????????

I am lodging a formal complaint regarding the unacceptable handling of my Prescribed Minimum Benefit (PMB) condition and the resulting denial of essential medical care. I was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm in 2022, which qualifies as a PMB condition. In 2024, I underwent a scan that was incorrectly paid from my medical savings instead of PMB. Later that year, I re-registered the PMB (although I have since lost the related correspondence). In December 2024, I underwent a craniotomy. For my follow-up scan scheduled on 8 December 2025, I contacted Discovery on 4 December to confirm PMB coverage. At that point, I was informed that no PMB was registered. The consultant escalated the matter and promised to call me back. On the morning of 8 December, just hours before my scan, I phoned again. The consultant could not locate a reference number and assured me that the initial consultant would call me back before my scan. No call was received, forcing me to cancel my follow-up appointment. Later that day, I phoned again and was informed that my PMB benefits had “expired.” This explanation is unacceptable. PMBs do not expire; they require annual re-application. This repeated administrative failure has directly compromised my health and continuity of care. I find it appalling that my medical aid treats my health as though it were a bureaucratic game. I demand immediate resolution and written authorization for my follow-up scan before the end of this week.
