Exorbitant fees
I would like to express my dissatisfaction with Discovery Health's fees. I am paying nearly R3000 per month for a very basic medical aid, what I am not happy with is the fact that from the almost R30000 a year I am paying Discovery Health, I get a measly R4000 a year in my savings account and when I went to the doctor a month or so ago, the bill came to R1000 and I had to pay in R700 of that. I don't think that this is fair and I feel as if I am being ******. I hope Discovery Health can come up with a plan of action to reduce my fees and keep me as a client as I am currently terribly unhappy.

Thank you for your comment.
The Scheme offers various different plan options with a premium unique to each plan as the benefits differ from plan to plan. Members would need to choose the plan that best suit their medical and financial needs. We fund claims according to the chosen plan type and where providers charge above that rate, then members would be liable for the difference.
The Medical Savings Account portion for Essential plans is 15% of your monthly contribution and Classic plan is 25%. Therefore, you may want to look at a plan with a higher savings.
I would recommend that you consult your broker who would best be suited to guide you on an option that would be appropriate for you. I have emailed you the details.
