Emergency Dental
A day before travelling abroad (UK) I called Discovery to find out how they could assist me with emergency dental treatment for an abscess, I was told I need a code for them to advise if I will be covered or not, as my measly savings with them had been depleted.
The consultant insisted that I go to the emergency room to see a DR and then the dr will supply me with a code meaning, There would be chance that I would not be covered for my abscess to be treated.
At the time of the call, I had no money on me and could not go to an emergency room only to be told I would need to cough up what ever amount for my abscess to be treated.
My salary payday was the next day meaning i would need to wait till I land in the UK and head over to a dentist There to be treated. “R18 to the pound”
I also advised them that I will be travelling to the uk - if I am in need of dental treatment for the abscess while abroad how do I go about it? Who pays me or discovery? Still waiting for that answer!
While on holiday, I received a mail from them saying they have been trying to reach me to assist with my query. 2 things wrong with the email received from them.
1. I was in another country! 2.This was days apart from my original query which I had to pay 220 pounds to have treated anyway.
Companies and customers pay thousands and thousands to Discovery and getting smoothies in return is not worth it.
