Dumbfounded!!!

I submitted an application to add my adult daughter as another dependent on my medical aid. This application was rejected based on the fact that my daughter was on a lower Discovery plan until end of January 2025 with her previous employer (when her employment contract ended). My application to now add her onto my medical aid (which is a higher Discovery plan than the one she was on) is now seen as an upgrade which is against scheme rules.

I'm extremely unhappy and frustrated with Discovery!!!

First of all: my daughter is not upgrading her medical aid, her medical aid ended when her employment contract ended. How is it fair to not allow me to place my own daughter on my medical aid due to the fact that her employment contract ended and she happened to be on a lower plan than what I am. Secondly: The amount I would have paid (if I'm allowed to put her on my medical aid) is +/- R2300. If she has to reinstate her old plan (as I was advised my your consultant) the amount I would have to pay is +/- R3600 and that for less benefits!!!!!!

I'm really, really, failing to understand how I am not able to add my daughter on my medical aid. None of the circumstances are due to any intentional actions by myself or my daughter. The fact that she was on a lower scheme when her employment ended has no relation to me being on a higher plan and wanting to add her to my plan (as I cannot have her without medical aid).
