DON'T WASTE TIME OR MONEY ON PREPAID HEALTH VOUCHERS

Very poor service at Dr Kathan in Portlands Mitchell's Plain. I bought my mom the prepaid voucher as advertised by Discovery for R300. My mom went on Saturday, 23 January 2021, using prepaid voucher. Firstly, the practice didn't know how to process voucher initially and took a while to redeem and also Discovery not available during the weekend to assist. Secondly, the Dr called in sick at 10h00 and my mom was waiting at the rooms since 09h00, thereafter she was waiting for another Dr and by 11h30, still no Dr was there and rooms close at 12h00 and unfortunately, as the practice redeemed the voucher she was unable to go to another network GP. Pathetic service from both Discovery and the network GP, Dr Kathan. Please do not introduce products and services to 'assist' those that are not on medical aid and expect people to pay usual rates but wait as if it's a public or free service. Bitterly disappointed... I will be sharing this experience on all platforms to warn prospective patients to use their hard earned money by paying cash and really boycotting this product.
