Does Discovery really care about you, or just your money?
I am so tired of having to deal with Discovery Health in this manner. I have three issues currently that just seem to be swept under the rug and I am tired of feeling like I pay so much money for Medical Aid every month to get so little savings out of it that I cannot take care of my health.
First Issue: I need the Mirena for medical conditions, PCOS and I am Anemic. However, this apparently comes out of one's savings. It's going to cost R8 000 to do as the device itself is just under R4000. If I had to wait until January next year to do it, it takes half my savings. Leaving R7000 for my family for the year. That's R145 per person per month for savings. Just to see the doctor nowdays is R580. Please explain to me why this is supposed to come out of savings and it not covered under PMB? Why do women have to be punished for being a woman? You advertise about living a healthy lifestyle and being all health conscious but you cannot even help someone when they really need it considering the amount of money we pay every month.
Second: I have lower disc degeneration, Discovery is aware of this. I have yet to receive anything on spinal care, what is covered under PMB etc. I have been suffering and in pain and again cannot look after my health.
Third: The reason all the savings are also done is due to seeing physios etc as well as a mental health professional, which was approved under PMB, a new claim submitted and surprise surprise no amount of emails you do not state why you have not put it back in savings. Just emails to Discovery and thats where it gets left.
Fourth: The nurse at the physicians office had to beg for me to have an iron infusion, which is the second one. which YOU should have on record.
Next year I really need to question being with you and rather look at other options. We keep giving you the benefit of the doubt but there is no improvement while I cannot stay on top of managing my health because I am so limited to options.
