DOCTOR REFUTES EXEC PLAN REASONING

HAD HERNIA REPAIR ON 9 APRIL 2015

AUTHORISATION FOR EVERYTHING RECEIVED AS AN IN HOSPITAL PROCEDURE.

SURGEON AMOUNT WAS TAKEN FROM SAVINGS IN ERROR.

ON 29 APRIL SPOKE TO KHADEEJAH ISSACS WHO SAID IT HAS BEEN CORRECTED.BUT IT WAS THE DOCTORS FAULT. She said that the doctor should have put the authorization no on his account so that they could link it up.

We have just spoken to the doctor who has said he has never heard of anything like this in all his years of surgery. The accounts are submitted electronically and there is no field available for auth no. It cannot be handwritten either as that would mean getting paperwork involved and they have never operated like that before. This problem has not arisen with this surgeon with any other medical aid previously in over ten years.

So why have I been told that this was a mistake on the side of the doctor. And what would have happened if we never picked up this problem ourselves. Our savings would just have been depleted unfairly.

My wife is having hernia surgery on the 9th May and we are hoping that no more ERRORS WILL ARISE from amounts being deducted erroneously as we have full authorization for this surgery too.
Hello Stevereps,

Thank you for your comment.

As discussed on the Executive plan, during an approved hospital admission all related accounts are paid from the available Medical Savings Account (MSA) or Above Threshold Benefit (ATB) subject to Scheme rules. The hospitals account is paid from the Hospital Benefit up to the Scheme Rate.

I confirmed that the claim in question is processed and paid correctly. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the manner in which your query was handled. I am addressing this internally to ensure this does not occur going forward.

Thank you for allowing me to assist with your query.

Kind regards
Jashvir
