DO NOT JOIN DISCOVERY MEDICAL AID SCHEME, USELESS

I have a chronic condition and I have been put on a 12 months waiting period whilst I will be paying more than 4000 for cover with Discovery. Unfortunately I was without employment for more than a year and could not afford medical aid. So for this Discovery will put me on a waiting period OF 12 MONTHS????? Whilst there’s monthly deductions????? Make it make sense. CHRONIC MEDICATION???? Really???? Unfortunately my current employer only subscribes to Discovery otherwise I would have NEVER JOINED SUCH A ***** medical aid scheme that only seeks to make money and does not care about the welfare of it’s clients.

Their “forensic department” is totally useless as they don’t even get back to you on the 3/5 days which is supposed to be their turnaround time. The one consultant I spoke to Kwena Mabule would not even give me a number to call so I could escalate my concerns and she was somewhat not understanding of my concerns and actually wanted me to understand this ridiculous 12 months waiting period.

Honestly this does not make sense AT ALL!!! Bonitas Medical Aid was the best medical aid EVER!

I’m livid!!! I feel ****** also and so frustrated cause I can’t do anything about this
