Dissapointed

My 84 year old Mother had to have Cancer cut out of her scalp and back. We went to the Surgeon who did a procedure on her before. The Surgeon sent supporting PMB Docs to be authorised according to regulation 8, chapter 3 of the medical schemes act. The medical aid decided that as she went to a known plastic surgeon, who got authorisation for the operation (procedure) they would not pay the bill. And because she did not use one of their doctors. They paid a minute portion of the invoice for both the doctor and the anesthetist. I requested a review and just got the same answer. I am very unhappy with the dismissive attitude of a medical aid who is meant to care for their elderly clients.
