DISSAPOINTED

I am not writing this review to put Discovery Health in a bad light. I resigned my previous Medical aid purely as a result of affordabillity, i had no other issues with my previous medical aid and i thank them for being there for me each time i had needed them, they had no issues, i decided to join Discovery Health one again as they had the plan within my budet. To my dismay i am thrown with a penalty fee, that raises the contribution with a few hundred rand which is fine i can still manage that, but then after disclosing a lung condition COPD which i have had since late 2020 COPD while i was a member of Discovery during 2021 and received chronic medication and treatment for while i was a member on Discovery i am penilised with a 3 month waiting period while lung conditions are on your PMB list, and Chronic list, i am not allowed to see a GP and no benefits all togethe but my contribution to start paying begins 01/11/2023. I can understand the penalty fee for late joiner fees as calculated but not being penilised with no benefits. Further on, when i joined Discovery Health prior to my current Medical aid Discovery did not impose. This means if i had a medical emergency lung condition and had to go to hospital or casualty unit Discovery Health woud not cover me, but i pay my premiums. I am very dissapointed and i would like someone to telephonically contact me, instead of e mailing correspondence letters to help solve this and revise this.
