DISHONOURING OF A VALID CLAIM

THIS COMPLAINT RELATES TO UNRESOLVED COMPLAINT LOGGED WITH DISCOVERY AROUND 20 JANUARY 2015 (***). On 6 December 2014 my dad (82) had an emergency afterhours consultation with Dr S.J. Swanepoel, who administered Scheriproct ointment and suppositories to treat severe bleeding internal haemorrhoids. My dad paid R1040 cash & submitted a claim to Discovery with the Dr's account and proof of payment. Discovery confirmed receipt but refused to honour the claim due to an incorrect ICD10 code on the account. Dr Swanepoel's accounts dept called Discovery to clarify the ICD10 code (***). According to Dr Swanepoel, Discovery's agent (Deon) admitted a mistake on their part, promising my dad's claim would be honoured. This didn't happen & I called Discovery who called my dad for consent for me to act on his behalf. I got a claim *** with the advice that the ICD10 code was still incorrect - no repayment would be made. I reverted to Dr Swanepoel's accounts dept who again called Discovery (agent Nigel) whereafter the Dr changed the ICD10 code from I84.9 to I84.5 and resubmitted the proof of payment and request that claim be honoured. To date NO PAYMENT. HELP!!!!
