Dishonesty and / or Incompetence
I recently resigned from Discovery as I left the company that I was working for.(company medical aid). I recieved a notice that my medical aid cover will expire on the 31st September 2015. I then called them to inquire about 2 things, outstanding monies owing, I was informed that nothing was outstanding, & my MSA.- I was INFORMED that my MSA was available for me to use until 31 September 2015 as that too will expire and be forfeited. NO MENTION was made to me about a potential \claw back"or \""over expenditure\"" that MAY exist should I use my MSA. As a result"

Thank you for your comment.
The Medical Savings Account (MSA) is a fixed amount that Discovery Health gives you at the beginning of the year for day-to-day medical expenses. You pay this amount back to us in 12 equal monthly instalments but, if necessary, you are free to use the whole amount at the beginning of the year to pay for valid medical expenses. The 12 instalments form part of your monthly contribution. If you leave Discovery Health Medical Scheme part-way through the year, we calculate how much of the MSA you have used and how much you have contributed to it. If you have used more from the account than what you have paid into the account, then you will need to pay the difference to us.
We've confirmed that you have been contacted and your concerns addressed. We understand that it was not the outcome you were looking for but trust the information given provided some clarity.
Regards
Annelize
