Disheartened

On 10 March 2025, I app**** for cover for my daughter’s consumables and still have not received feedback. I have done a follow-up and still the consultant/s that I spoke with stated that I had received feedback; however, the feedback I received states nothing about what I app**** for initially. I ordered these items monthly, and for the second month, we ran short. I also can’t reuse majority of the ones that are approved for cover because they don’t work and it is beyond frustrating to look after a child that has special needs and on top of that have to stress about her daily eating, sucking, cleaning items. It’s challenging as it is and I can’t afford to stress when I pay for medical aid monthly. This is beyond inhumane to not be able to receive these items because they made her life and my life easier. As I’m typing this, some items will not last a month whatsoever. I don’t understand the thinking behind whoever has changed the rules because some of us these items are needs and not nice to haves. Without them our lives are difficult daily. I can’t risk my daughter having to get infection because I have to use one suction-tube for a month or use one neck band for a whole week for her Trachy. People who look at this process should consider our likelihood. No parent of a special needs child wants to be in the position I am in. It was not my choice to have such a life and the least this company can do is to have compassion when it comes to such cases. I’m beyond frustrated and hopeless when it comes to medical aid. Even worse, the rates keep going up, but the benefits are being reduced. Below is what I have app**** for and need feedback. Mind you. I need these consumables monthly and now I'm forced to buy them out of my pocket with money I don't even have.
