DISGUSTING SERVICE

My son was put into hospital 08.08 in a hurry with incredible pain. He had x-rays which showed he needed more investigation. Blood tests revealed kidney problems so a change of chronic medication. Change of meds is taking so long, more blood tests were done beginning of Sept still no communication as to what pills should be changed in spite of the specialists enquiries. On 08.08 he got authorisation for hospital stay. On 10.08 a further specialist was called in & needed an MRI. He signed a form for it no co-payments were on the form, the department doing MRI also confirmed no co- payment. Imagine the surprise when he got a bill with a nil balance everything paid then got another one where Discovery had reversed R4300. The authorisation letters for MRI was sent 14.08 stating the shortfall, when MRI was done 10.08 & discharge 11.08. He told them he couldn't afford a shortfall so would never have had it done. In the pamphlet it states 1 MRI a year but doesn't say according to plan. The plan he is on has 46 pages & the shortfall is at the bottom of page 32. When authorisation was needed why did the shortfall not be made known or the Netcare case manager advise.
