I was sent to a specialist ent which I got a authorisation number for he then sent me to a audiologist( which is part of my treatment from him) so this should be paid from specialist benefit. I got feedback to say this is a general scheme exclusion but when I went to the website it doesn't mention anything. They say it won't be paid from day to day but my specialist benefit has nothing to do with day to day. R800 is a lot for a person who is in the lower income bracket and who is supposed to be on a medical aid who is there to help them but pays minimal

On your chosen plan type we aim to provide private healthcare to people who could not previously afford the high cost of a medical aid and as a result, never had access to private healthcare.
As previously discussed, there are some exclusions that the Scheme does not cover at all to help us keep the cost of belonging to your chosen plan type as low as possible.
I am truly sorry that we cannot offer you an alternate outcome to your query.
