I have started working for a new company and they provide medical I had to cancel my membership with Discovery the coastal saver plan. my membership ended on 28 February 2019.

I sent a email to discovery requesting for the savings that is still available to be paid back to me as your savings account is part of your monthly contribution to your medical aid. Discovery sent me a email back Stating I need to write a letter for the early pay out of my medical savings. I do not believe it is a early pay out as I am no longer a member which means if I need to go and get something from the pharmacy now they will say I am inactive on the Medical scheme and they will not pay. I have sent discovery the letter and they sent me a email back saying that if there is a refund to me they will only pay me back in the fifth month after date of withdrawal. The reason for this is because service providers have four months to submit their claims. now my questions is when my medical savings is depleted they reject the claim and I become liable for the money? I know there is no claims as I have not been to any service provider that has not been paid yet. In the letter they ask you to write that you want to withdraw your Medical savings and you as the main member take full responsibility for any claims that may be submitted I have done that and they still refuse to pay me the money owing to me and said I have to wait for 5 months.
