Discovery want Dentists to use dirty instruments!
I am with Keycare Plus and I am NOT impressed! How can a medical plan not cover something as ESSENTIAL AND BASIC as sterilizing instruments? <br> <br> Why are the dentists expecting me to pay the Sterilization fees myself as the Keycare Plus Plan don't pay for Code 8110 (Dr Arrison and Dr Maslen want me to pay this fee in cash upfront). <br> <br> The cheek is this, you force me to go to these dentists on YOUR list as \fillings and extractions are covered on the plan"and then you don't have a proper agreement in place with them wrt this code for cleaning/sterilizing instruments.<br> <br> I am NOT supposed to pay surcharges"

Your chosen plan type covers you for basic dentistry such as consultations, fillings and extractions at a dentist in our network. This benefit is administered by the Dental Risk Company (DRC) and conducts the clinical reviews. Unfortunately code 8110 is not a covered benefit unless billed for in conjunction with certain codes. Where certain treatments are excluded from the dental formulary, members would need to fund for these.
