DISCOVERY *****S MONEY FROM ESTATES
My father-in-law passed away and we have been trying to obtain a refund of overpaid membership fees - all relevant documentation and notifications were submitted - three times - as they only accept it from the Executor!!!

We have subsequently been attempting to have the refund due to his estate paid by Discovery - it seems they only reconcile one part of the account though - the part where the estate owes them money... NOT!!

They don't seem to reference and index documentation because someone asked me for the same stuff again today - almost six months later!!

And nobody bothers to mention in five months that they need permission from the Executor to change banking details. We are only told after we called to follow-up on the refund after almost 8 weeks of NOTHING from Discovery.

Every other large institution accepts bank statements or proof of account from the bank....

They don't TELL you they can't pay because the banking details have to be changed officially! Apparently, keeping people guessing is acceptable customer service standards....

So, after almost six months - no refund!!

Moral is that Discovery JUST DON'T WANT TO PAY!! FOR ANYTHING!!! EVER!!
Thank you for your email.
As discussed I confirmed the premium refund has been done and I have sent an email with further details on the refund. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the manner in which your query was attended to. I am addressing this internally to ensure that the correct process is followed going forward.
Due to the confidentiality act in such cases we may only assist and provide information to the Executor of the Estate or a person appointed by the Executor with Power of Attorney. I do confirm we have received all the relevant documentation and this has been attached to the membership.
Thank you for allowing me to assist you with your query.
Kind regards
