Discovery refusing Authorisation

I was always happy with Discovery Keycare, but this time around, I have really been let down. This is the second issue this year. I was with Discovery for 5 years until September 2021 and was not on medical aid for a few months until May 2022. So for personal reasons I wasn’t on medical aid for a few months and I understand that there is due procedure for new on boarding clients, but what I am currently being put through, in spite of the fact that they do have all my medical history dating back to 2016 is all too much. They are giving me the run around and don’t even bother to communicate. If I don’t follow up, then they just keep quiet, meanwhile I’ve been bleeding since 2 June amongst other things. Why won’t you take my health seriously?? They sent a PMA to the doctor, the doctor called telling me that they say I have cancer of the cervix, which I’ve never been diagnosed with. The doctor fills in on the form that he hasn’t diagnosed me with that and now the medical aid insists they have. I understand that I have a condition specific waiting period for my PCOS and I understood the explanation they gave when they didn’t pay my claims for the GP saying that bleeding was directly linked to PCOS. But having seeing 2 different doctors, they both agree it as nothing to do with PCOS and the second doctor has also found a polyp and some unusual growth that needs to be investigated by a gynaecologist. The gynaecologist’s rooms believe this warrants an emergency appointment but Discovery feels I need to bleed out. My child isn’t even 3 yet, why do you want me to die??? I’ve called them again this morning and they tell me the doctor didn’t answer them adequately by saying he didn’t diagnose me with cervical cancer. The doctor in question is on leave until 29 July. Discovery says any other Dr in the rooms can complete the form, now the Dr’s rooms say they need the instruction in writing from Discovery. Why hasn’t it been communicated to them in the first place?? Mind you, my other Dr. also did an application for the gynaecologist for me too, so I asked them to work on that application since that Dr. Is available. Meanwhile they insist on working on the application of the Dr. that is away. The Dr. that actually examined me and has given better detail in the application is being ignored. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with Discovery. How are they going to act like they don’t have years worth of my medical history just because I was off the medical aid for a few months?
