Discovery really doesn't care about their members.
As a loyal Discovery member for more than 10 years, my husband got a job at the bank and was forced to move to Bankmed. Keep in mind that all my diagnosis' I ever got was when I was with Discovery.
We were on Bankmed for one month and then moved back to Discovery, only for Discovery to put me on a general 3-month waiting period because I have anxiety and ADHD...The anxiety I don't take meds for and the ADHD medication they have NEVER paid for.
All in all I was at Dsicovery until 31 Oct 2022, at Bankmed 1 November until 31 December, back on Discovery 1 Jan 2023. And for ALL my support over the years this is how they treat their loyal members.
Our broker contested this but Discovery refused to budge.
Not only are both Anxiety and ADHD debilitating conditions, we really get no support from our medical aid...costing us a fortune out of pocket....just like we are probably going to get some stupid generic response on this post about how they value their members but all of us know it's not true.
If they actually paid for anything, sure. But most of the time we have to pay everything out of pocket anyway.
But even though Discovery is really ****, they are still better than Bankmed.
"Investigating the matter"...RIGHT. Investigating but not doing anything...but SOOOO QUICK to take our money.
Please reconsider before moving to Discovery, they DO NOT CARE about their clients and barely pay for anything anyway.
Glorified pyramid scheme if you ask me.
