Discovery. Probably the most difficult people to deal with.
I have been a member of Discovery for years. In the past if there was a problem it could be resolved by email. It is now different and one has to phone discovery. This, in itself, is a traumatic experience as it takes about 5minutes before you actually get through to some person. For instance, this morning I phoned but the message was we are busy/ have a problem etc and please go to the website . My problems cannot be resolved on their web site. They have been discussed with them previously and no resolution is in sight. On 14th September 2022 I sent to discovery, at the correct address, a new prescription for my wife who is registered on the Oncology program and is also on the chronic medication program. The new prescription related to both her cancer medication and chronic medication. I gave them time to capture the new details etc (26 days) and then went to clicks for her cancer medication. I was told I had to pay for the medication. The following day I went to my normal pharmacy for her chronic medication and was told Discovery refused to pay for the medication
I telephoned discovery and was told : 1) Clicks had entered the incorrect codes and that was why the medication was rejected. 2) The chronic department said they had no notice of the change of medication but, after checking, agreed they had my letter of Sept14Th but had not had the chance of changing their records. (26 days!)
I went to Clicks who changed the codes on computer for discovery and I again spoke to discovery who confirmed all was now well. However they have not given me the credit of R1061.70 made up as follows: R763.20 for oncology medication and R298.50 for chronic medication as per their claims notification dated 10-10-2022.
Possibly I should deduct R1061.7 from my monthly subs.
