Discovery Pre Auth Sucks and is unfair

Good day

I am sending this on behalf of my Sister.. She is currently in Robinson Hospital for treatment. The doctors are not yet sure what is wrong with her. The Pre Authorisation was given for only 24 hours, but the doctors are terribly concerned about her and feel it is unsafe to discharge her as she is very ill but they cannot yet say what exactly the problem is. To top it all, the one specific test the doctor needs to do on her might be dangerous and she needs to stay in hospital for 48 hours afterwards to be monitored. He is unable to do his work in order to get my sister helped.

Now, Discovery heath is saying it is a PRE EXISTING CONDITION... How can it be a Pre existing condition if the doctors does not know what is wrong???? How do you make that calculation?? How can she be penalized and sent home extremely sick, while Discovery will not assist her. It is NOT a Pre Existing Condition as this has never happened to her before. Her medical aid cover kicked in on 1/10, she started feeling sick only recently, this was definately not Pre Existing. I am nauseated by your service.

Can someone capable please look into this issue and assist my sister as the doctors are fearing for her life.
