Discovery paying clients on their own time.
Still no resolution. First it was no the MSA was not depleted and then it was no the codes are wrong, now it’s no we need the nurses consultation.
My MSA currently has R25 left. Discovery offers an extended day-to-day benefit that’s supposed to assist you with a virtual GP or nurse consultation at Clicks or Dis-Chem when your savings are depleted. Yesterday, I went for a virtual appointment and paid R395 out of pocket. When I submitted the claim to Discovery, they rep**** saying that because I still had R25 remaining in my MSA, they were denying the claim.
WOW. I’m honestly appalled. They advertise an extended service, yet hide behind terms and conditions that leave the consumer at a loss. Absolutely poor service from Discovery Health, especially after being a loyal member for 8 years.
And now suddenly Clicks “isn’t part of their wellness clinics.”
Lol. Good one, Discovery. You really had me fooled into thinking you were an ethical business.

This is completely misleading. They even sent me correspondence apologising for any “incorrect communication.”
This is extremely concerning for a medical aid provider. They could be denying claims under false pretences, which could have serious implications — all because they need to find the “perfect” excuse. As a member, I feel taken advantage of. By sending that correspondence, Discovery is essentially admitting to dishonesty and, in effect, theft from their customers.
