DISCOVERY PATHETIC IM NOW TAKING IT LEGAL

I am absolutely disgusted by the service I received from discovery. My child was born with a cleft lip and palate it took them over eight months to approve his pmb application, once the application was finally approved after eight months of struggle the medical aid left me with a co payment for his surgeries I had to fight and beg them to help fund the maxilio facial surgeon out of pmb.

Once they approved it and paid the Dr they decided to decline all of my child's Dr visits which cost 1200 they stated that they only pay up to the scheme rate and refunded me 300 for each consultation. I'm absolutely disgusted for not getting my full money back.

Where do I stand as a mother who can't afford to pay the consultations for the SAME DR THEY APPROVED HIS SURGERY TO BE PAID OUT OF PMB I'm taking this to the health board as they can't get away with this disgusting behaviour . My child who was born with this condition can't even go and see the Dr for post op treatment because I don't have the money to do so as they never refunded me back my full money !!

I will not let discovery go as this supposed to BY LAW be paid in full due to his condition.

The Dr who sees my child is Dr sanet birthrey and they have still refused to pay back my money ..I wish to take this further till I get my full refund back from medical aid and all his orthodontics treatment to be fully covered under pmb ! They still owe me 3000 rand from the orthodontics plate for Dr Rolanda prinsloo I really didn't think this medical aid will be this way
