DISCOVERY OVERPAYMENT OF AN ANEASTHETIST IN 2015 MEANS NO PAY SECURE PAYMENT FOR PHYSIOTHE****** IN 2017

Discovery sent me a notification of a payment due for Tessa Loftus Physio ON 14TH SEPTEMBER 2017 and said it would be paid to me. It was not paid to me nor to Tessa Loftus. Discovery overpaid aN account of mine 2015 and clawed back the money due to Tessa Loftus so as to correct their mistake, leaving both her and I out of pocket. I obviously had to find the money to pay Tessa Loftus Notification from Discovery is not clear and they continually do this. The service provider normally gets paid directly by Discovery but this time they said they paying me and took the money to fix there mistake, without notifying me. I then had a discussion with a manager who put the phone down on me and did not have the courtesy to call me back. Half my monthly salary pays the R4506.00 for my medical aid and if discovery make mistakes be professional and notify your members when you are going to drop them into debt. If Discovery makes a mistake Discovery, I feel this is unconstitutional and a disgrace that I was not notified but sent a payment notification to mislead me. If Discovery makes a mistake they should be liable not the member. I hope the Directors of Discovery can clarify this matter and take responsibility for there staff errors and if you overpay a doctor claim it back from the doctor. In February I had a co-payment of over R3000 which was taken out of my savings. When I queried this as it was a PMB condition and should have been paid out of my hospital benefits. Discovery evidently paid the amount out of the hospital benefits but did not credit my savings account. Unless this matter is resolved I have no other option but to contact the Onbadsman
