Discovery not paying for life-saving meds

I have an acute allergy to shellfish and am forced to carry 2 epipens with me at all times. They expire approximately every year and cost close to R1000 each. Even though I am in danger of dying if I do not have them, discovery does not contribute one cent towards it.<br> <br> Surely my hospital bills would be more expensive than Discovery issuing me with epipens which would not only save my life, but also from a cost perspective for Discovery, would also hopefully avoid me being admitted into casualty?<br> <br> Can someone pleas explain the reasoning behind not covering this medication for a life threatening condition?<br> <br> Thank you!<br> Rachel von Romburgh
