Discovery Not Honoring Their Agreements

Hi,

Discovery has always been an honorable medical aid in terms of doing what they say they will do, the trick is you got to do exactly what they say the way they say it.

My wife recently gave birth in Fourways life. We have chosen a Doctor outside of the discovery network, however Fourways life is within the discovery network.

It so happens that my wife had gotten sick on a Saturday and had to go into theatre for an emergency C section. Now the hospital had called their team that is on Call for that weekend, it so happens to have been my Doctor. It was clearly our gain, but discovery is now choosing not to honor their agreement with me on the basis that this was my Dr that I chose, but failing to see that it was an emergency procedure and no matter which Dr we had chosen even if I have chosen a Dr from another country, On that particular Saturday no matter who I was, the Dr that delivered my baby was going to be the same Dr regardless of my choice or not! So bottom line I am now stuck with a huge Bill from our Dr, even though it was an in hospital procedure. So disappointed. The excuse from discovery is that I chose a Doctor outside of their network! No Discovery i did not! The hospital did! the very hospital that you told me to go to!
