Discovery - No integrity...

My wife was removed off of my medical aid two months ago without me knowledge and Discovery added someone else on. My wife tried to activate her maternity benefits to be told she was no longer a member. This other member got hold of my personal info and informed Discovery a month ago of the issue, they done nothing. Now I was told that I needed to pay for the two months for their mistake which they have acknowledged in mail. There is no accountability from Discovery. I have dealt with at least 16 people, the last been Bruce Frank who contacted me and advised he would look into the matter after a lengthily discussion. He in fact did not get back to me, I had to follow up 10 days later only to be told the exact same story by the other 15 useless people I had dealt with. I was double debited for Discovery's mistake and their lack of integrity on the issue was mind blowing. They have now customer service skills, everything is so encrypted. You cant get hold of anyone even dial back the numbers which they reach you. I am urging you to check your policies with Discovery, make sure it is correct and it was what you are paying for. I have been burnt and you are truly on your own. DISGUSTED

Hello morgan.jenkinson,

Thank you for your comment.

We investigated the concerns you raised and really sorry to learn of your experience. These issues have been addressed with the relevant teams to ensure better service in future.

We found that your dependent was incorrectly withdrawn and when this was identified, the error was immediately corrected. The Scheme offered you the option to reinstate your dependents cover under the same terms as before with no underwriting or exclusion of cover for her pregnancy. In addition, you were offered you a payment arrangement for the premiums that were outstanding which is not normally allowed.

This concession to allow reinstatement without underwriting and a payment arrangement of premiums was made on an exceptional basis given the unique situation you experienced. To afford you the request to waiver these premiums was regrettably declined as you can appreciate that premiums are required to ensure cover on the policy.

We're sorry you remain unhappy with the feedback and confirm you have been given options on pursuing your case further.

Regards
