DISCOVERY MEDICAL SWINDLING SCHEME

Hello Peter,

I was and am still shocked when I learned that Discovery doesn’t want to pay my claim. I was admitted to Linksfield hospital from 22nd to 27th July 2016. Before my admission, the receptionist checked with Discovery and authorisation was granted. I (Member # ********** 80) have been with Discovery for 7 months and my contributions are always debited on the agreed date – no arrears. They don’t want to pay for anything i.e.: ward fees, procedures, tests including needles. I have asked them to tell me why they have been debiting my account. This is clearly a swindling scheme.

Regards,

Hi Cornelius,

The amount you have quoted is not the only one, there are other claims for tests/procedures which took place during the same period (whilst in hospital) and which am still waiting for Discovery to pay – please check my claim history.

I am not in SA but am forced to interrupt what am busy with to come and sort out this mess and I trust it will bear positive results. I will go by your request and hope it’s not a waste of my precious time. The only window I have is end of the month.

I have played my part by paying my contributions. In return, am expecting nothing but cover as you promised.

Regards

Discovery won’t pay my claim even after requesting that I collect the filled – in PMA form from the Dr who treated me when I was admitted to hospital. This required that I interrupt my work, fly from Namibia to SA. Mr Cornelius Moller from Discovery reassured me that once the forms are returned, my claim will be processed. He acknowledged receipt of the form in question but can’t still act. It has been four months since I left the hospital and my claims have not been paid. I am sick and tired of begging for what is legitimately due to me. I want to simplify the matter for them by demanding that all my contributions are paid back since they cannot provide me with cover. I also want the money I spent on my return flight reimbursed.

Dear Reader, I don’t want you to experience the same nightmare. Do the right thing - Don’t join Discovery. They have become nothing else but some scheme aimed at swindling from PATIENTS… just imagine.
