Discovery Medical not covering my Cancer Treatment

I am a Discovery Health Member.<br> <br> I was diagnosed with late stage 3 Colon Cancer.<br> My savings were depleted in diagnosing the cancer.<br> While I was in Intensive Care Discovery Health Advised my spouse that all oncology treatment was subject to my medical savings which had by this stage been depleted.<br> <br> This resulted in me having to go to Addington Hospital for post operative follow up oncology treatment, blood tests, chest X-rays etc. (As a Discovery Health member I had to rely on the state for treatment of a Prescribed Minimum Benefits condition).<br> <br> I have since been medically boarded because of the Cancer and the side affects of the operation and Cancer treatment and Discovery Medical Aid refuses to pay for medication and treatment prescribed by my oncologist.<br> <br> My advice to any potential Discovery Health Members is to think twice as you are not really covered for what lies ahead should you ever be diagnosed with a dread disease/illness.
