Discovery medical doesnt help

Discovery medical aid doesn’t care!!! Iam on Discovery Classic Priority plan. We are 4 on this plan , and costs over R10000 a month!! I went last year for a back operation, co-pay R20000. 8 months later a need to go for a 2nd back operation, again co-pay of R20000 plus extra R10000 because the hospital not on “Discovery prefer list”. Thus for a R50000 procedure my co-payment is R30000.

The joke of the day, if I was on 1 of the LOWER options at discovery, there wont be a R20000 co-pay. And according to them its not PMB. Because there again they’ve got a list.

Be very careful for Discovery!

According to the phone call from Discovery, its how the plan works that iam on. A lot of co payments. But if you search for the Priority Calssic option on Discovery website, it state “ UNLIMITED COVER IN ANY HOSPITAL”. And “ Guaranteed Full Cover….. up to 200% of DHR. But I’ve still got a R30000 co pay for my back operation.

Discovery doing false advertising!! But again. All in fine print, thus the POOR PATIENT SUFFERS”
