Discovery Medical Aid not approving a life saving apparatus. Denying a person their basic human right to live a relative normal, healthy life.

I have been a member of Discovery Medical aid for more that 18 years, never had any major illness or procedure done.

About 2 weeks ago I experienced some heart issues, I went to see the cardiologist and he did some test and booked me for an angiogram as well as sleep studies,

The angiogram confirmed a coronary heart defect, arrythmia and tachycardia and the sleep studies where a big positive for sleep apnea. It turned out that I stop breathing in my sleep at least 20 times and that my saturation falls to below 75% so that means that my lungs and heart does not get enough oxygen to work properly and therefore my heart has to work 3 times harder.

In order to assist me with my breathing at night so I can get enough oxygen while I am sleeping and to prevent more damage to my heart I need a sleep apnea machine (cpap machine) a live saving apparatus.

And you will never ques wat the response from Discovery Medical was on receiving a request to provide and pay for this life saving apparatus............................... They just straight forward denied the request, after receiving all the results from the tests as well as the sleep study done, and stated that there is no real indication on why I need this machine to technically save my life.

So needless to say I am furious with Discovery Medical Aid. For the life of me I can not understand why they would deny a person their basic human right to live a relative normal, healthy life.
