Discovery medical aid does not care

Discovery medical aids makes billions annually but when it comes to pay chronic its all about the cheapest formula for them.....my husband is diabetic (chronic) Discovery only pays a portion and we have to pay in, then high blood pressure which we have to pay in total co payment is R1100 a month... ridiculous, according to Discovery his blood pressure tablets are not on their formula, so they gave us the formula medication, he started to use it, first week blood pressure dropped to 90/60 but pulse 125 he is 65 years and we rushed him to the Doctor blood pressure tablets stopped immediately for 4 days before it returned to very high, dosage was changed and tablet retested as he had a cold and thought it might be due to infection that caused blood pressure to drop, started new formula again once again blood pressure dropped severely and pulse rate 126 , only after 3 days on medication he stopped for 3 days blood pressure is slight up not normal but still low pulse 110,Discovery feels its not there fault as we have the choice to pay for the non formula...DISCOVERY we pay alot for a good medical and you not, your formula had a fatal reaction and today when i once again phoned in you have the attitude ITS NOT OUR PROBLEM... WHATHE HELL PAY CHRONIC MEDICATION not what you think is better for your pockets
