Discovery medical aid cut off immediately.. Grace period?

I have been a loyal client of Discovery health. It is my fault I know that my debit order was returned, but upon phoning and asking for a payment arrangement for 6 January, I was denied this. Once again, I know I am in the wrong, but just asked for a few days assistance as you never know what could happen and then immediately stopping all cover. I feel there need to be a little but of a grace period to give a person before just being cut off medically.
