DISCOVERY MEDICAL AID ****

A **** of a medical aid. Completed an appendix procedure last year (2024) and ended up with a bill of 40k to the surgeon. We were then informed by discovery that the savings have been depleted and will be loaded in January 2025,guess what? It's the month of March now and the medical aid has zero savings despite not using the medical aid this year. My wife went for a gastro and bloods today 12 March 2025 and we had to pay over R3000 to be assisted. The doctor on duty who is known to us told us straight up that he does not recommend Discovery medical aid for anyone. This is the 3rd doctor in the last year telling us about how bad Discovery medical aid is to the public. I spent another R1,100 buying medicine at Dischem pharmacy and the pharmacist made it clear to us that Discovery medical aid IS A ****. All of this whilst paying more than R8000 per month towards the medical aid. STAY AWAY FROM DISCOVERY MEDICAL AID IF YOU WANT PEACE OF MIND.
