Discovery lying about Covid-19 tests being covered when at risk
My wife was tested positive for Covid-19, so I was advised that I need to also get tested as I am at risk and was obviously in contact with her. I see this claim was not covered and when I queried, I was told that because I never did a risk assessment, that It is not covered. However, IF I was positive, it would have been covered - How does this make sense ?? I was even told, that even if a DR referred me to get tested and I was negative, I would STILL need to pay for it.
I was told that ALL members received a notification that a risk assessment needed to be done first before a Covid-19 test would be covered, which I did not get - My wife did, and Im the main member! So I looked at the email, and NO WHERE does it state what I was told.
This is ridiculous, I was in contact with someone(my wife) who had the virus, but i still have to pay for it myself ???
Is this really how you do business Discovery!? This test is not cheap and R850 out of pocket at this time is A LOT of money!!
So with what Ive been told by both an agent AND a manager, my wife will have to pay for the next test, to make sure she is negative before she can go for her operation.
Guys, you should be paying for things like this if there are valid reasons for going for a test. And STOP lying to your members, it puts a sour taste in our mouths about you and this is how you loose more members.
The ONLY good thing that came out of the dispute, is that both the Agent and the Manager stayed calm and collected.
I want this test of mine covered!
